Chandigarh University, established in 2012 by the Punjab State Legislature, is a private institution located in Mohali, Punjab. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with an ‘A+’ grade by NAAC, the university offers a wide range of programs approved by esteemed bodies such as AICTE, BCI, PCI, NCTE, AIU, COA, CSI, and NCHMCT.
Chandigarh University has emerged as the top private university in India in the QS Asia Rankings 2025, climbing to 120th position in Asia, up from 149th in 2024. It has surpassed several premier institutions, including IITs and NITs, in the India-level rankings. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in over 200 disciplines across its 18 departments. Chandigarh University conducts its own entrance exam, the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET), for both undergraduate and postgraduate admissions. Additionally, for certain postgraduate courses, the university also considers marks obtained in the candidate’s Bachelor’s degree. For session 2024, 2 CU students (MBA) bagged a package of 20 LPA. The highest international package offered was Rs1.7 crore per annum, while the top domestic package stood at Rs 54.75 LPA.

Chandigarh University course fee ranges from Rs 26,000 to Rs 1,90,000 per semester depending on the type and level of course. The university offers more than 35 courses at certificate, UG, PG, diploma, and PhD levels. The courses are offered in various disciplines such as engineering, management, pharmacy, law, etc. Admission to these courses is done on the basis of entrance exam or merit.
For some courses like BE, BPharm, MPharm, MBA, LLM, etc., Chandigarh University takes admission on the basis of CUET score. Candidates must clear the CUET exam to get admission to these courses.
