Haridwar University, poreviously known as the Roorkee College of Engineering was established in 2010. Haridwar University Roorkee is a private university and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and the Ministry of HRD (Government of India). It is awarded as the ‘Best Technical Institute in Uttarakhand’ by the AICTE, CMAI, and, MTU. The Haridwar University ranking is 145 out of 246 institutions by the India Today Survey for BTech institutions in 2023.
The university offers Diploma, UG, and, PG courses in the streams of engineering, management, tourism, pharmacy, and, commerce. The most popular courses of the university are BTech, MTech, MBA, and, BCA. Admission to the Haridwar University courses is based on merit as well as entrance exams like JEE Mains and GATE. For BTech admissions, the JEE Mains scores are accepted and for MTech, the GATE scores. The college offers 86 courses at Diploma, Ph.D, PG and UG programmes. Furthermore, Haridwar University offers 20 courses in B.Tech, 13 courses in BSc at the UG level. At the PG level, the students can choose a wide range of specializations – 6 courses in M.Tech, 5 course in MSc. Admission to Haridwar University courses are open for the academic year 2024-25.
