IIT Kanpur

 The IIT Kanpur campus is one of India’s biggest campuses. The campus’s entire size is 1055 acres. The BTech programme is the flagship course. Additionally, the institute launched SURGE IIT Kanpur, a novel educational programme. The IIT Kanpur courses are offered in BTech, B.Sc, MTech, M.Des, M.Sc, MBA, and, PhD. The BTech course of the institute is the flagship course and its fee is Rs 8.38 lakh. Admission to the BTech course is based on the JEE Advanced exam followed by the JoSAA Counselling. Candidates with a rank of 200-250 are shortlisted for the course. Further, the IIT Kanpur fee structure ranges from Rs 44,150 to Rs 8.38 lakh.

At present, the institute has 4,500 students in the UG courses and 2,000 students in the PG courses. For the PhD courses, 2,100 students are enrolled in the institute. Moreover, the IIT Kanpur faculty includes 47 visiting faculty members and 555 permanent faculty members. The institute published 2,021 research publications in 2022 and has filed 884 patents to date.

The IIT Kanpur placements are also top-notch with more than 200 reputed companies participating in the placement drive. Some of IIT Kanpur’s top recruiters are Ola, Cognizant, KPMG, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Godrej, Amazon, Accenture, Google, Microsoft, TCS, Reliance Jio, Intel, Uber, Axtria, etc. IIT Kanpur has a student-to-faculty ratio of 15:9, with a faculty strength of 413 highly experienced members and a student population of 6478 students. The institute was established in 1959 as part of the Kanpur Indo-American Program as one of the earliest Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT). It was formed with the aid of a group of nine research universities in the United States.
