Yenepoya University was established in the year 2008 in the city of Mangalore. It is a private, deemed-to-be university. The University Grants Commission (UGC) recognises of Yenepoya University (Deemed to be University). The university has also been accredited by NAAC with an “A+” grade. Mr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi founded the Islamic Academy of Education, which later became the Yenepoya University Mangalore.
