About LPU
Lovely Professional University or LPU is a private institution situated in Chaheru, Phagwara, Punjab, India. Established in 2005 under the Lovely Professional University Act, 2005 (Punjab Act 25 of 2005), it began operations in 2006. LPU holds multiple approvals and recognitions from bodies such as the University Grants Commission (UGC), Council of Architecture, Association Of Indian Universities (AIU), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Council Of Architecture(COA), Indian Council Of Agricultural Research (ICAR), The Institution Of Engineers (India), Institute Of Town Planners, India (ITPI), and Bar Council of India (BCI). In its first NAAC accreditation cycle, LPU achieved an “A++” grade.
The university offers programmes across diverse fields, including business, fashion design, engineering, law, education, agriculture, humanities, and tourism. Admission to the majority of the courses is based on the LPUNEST. LPU has also started few new courses – Bachelor of Social Work (Hons.) of 4 years duration, Diploma in Child and Elderly Care, and BSc in Child and Elderly Care. This national entrance and scholarship exam evaluates the academic performance to check the eligibility for admission to various UG & PG programmes. This offers scholarships of up to Rs. 9.52 lakhs. LPUNEST has helped more than 1 lakh students for admission to over 150 programmes. With 300+ test centers across India and 8000+ scholarships awarded to the aspirants based on LPUNEST performance.
Apart from this, exams like GATE, NATA, CUET, CAT, XAT, NEET, etc. are also accepted. LPU has recently Launched B.Tech CSE work-integrated programmes in collaboration with Futurense, Kalvium, and Quantiphi. LPU hosts over 30,000 students and employs 4,000 faculty members across its 600-acre campus. The campus features extensive amenities such as hostels, transportation services, a university hospital, shopping and dining facilities, banking services, and well-stocked libraries. In the 2024 NIRF rankings, LPU has positioned 27th under overall category.

LPU Courses and Fees 2025
LPU fees range from Rs 15,000 to Rs 7,90,000 per year, depending on the type of course or specialisation opted for. The university offers a total of 46 courses at diploma, UG, PG, and doctoral levels. These courses are available in various streams such as information technology, commerce and banking, science, management, engineering, pharmacy, and other streams. Some of the popular courses offered by LPU include BTech, BSc, BPharm, BCA, etc. at the UG level and MTech, MBA, MSc, MPharm, etc. at the PG level. LPU has also started some new courses like BSc (Hons.) Forensic Sciences, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, MCA (Hons.) (Cyber Security), etc. Few new programmes, BTech. (Electrical and Computer Engineering), Bachelor of Social Work (Hons.), Diploma in Child and Elderly Care, and BSc in Child and Elderly Care has also been introduced by the university. Lovely Professional University cost for B.Design is Rs 240000 annually. Admission to LPU courses is open for the academic year 2025. For admission, the university accepts various exams such as JEE Main for BTech, GATE for MTech, CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT for MBA, NATA/ JEE Main paper 2 for BArch, etc. Apart from this, Lovely Professional University also conducts its own entrance exam: LPUNEST for admission. LPU Hostel Fees Structure 2025
LPU hostel fee structure varies according to the accommodation type selected by students. The university has individual boys and girls hostels both located within the campus. LPU hostels have both AC and non-AC rooms. The hostels have standard rooms and apartments. The apartments are costlier than standard rooms. LPU hostel fee can be paid via offline or online modes. For the convenience of students, hostels have all the basic and advanced amenities for students. LPU fees for hostel rooms depends on room type. The hostels fees 2025 is mentioned below.
