GMC Jammu admission 2023 for MBBS or BDS courses shall be conducted based on NEET results followed by the counselling process. Students who have qualified the NEET exam shall appear for the counselling process. The NEET round 1 counselling registration 2024 will begin on July 20, 2023. The round 1 choice filling and locking process will be conducted between July 22 to July 26, 2023. Moreover, the NEET counselling result round 1 is expected to be announced on July 29, 2023.
GMC Jammu medical course admission 2023 are offered on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in NEET UG results 2023. NTA has announced the NEET 2023 results on June 13, 2023. Candidates have to get their login credentials ready i.e. application number and date of birth and visit the NEET result official website to download scorecards. The results were available at neet.nta.nic.in 2023. The authorities have also released the GMC Jammu NEET cutoff along with the results. Candidates have to score more than the NEET UG cutoff and the GMC Jammu NEET result 2023 cutoff to get a seat in their desired course. Prabanjan J from Tamil Nadu and Bora Varun Chakravarthi from Andhra Pradesh share the lead for the top spot with 720 marks. Pranjal Aggarwal of Punjab was the female topper, with 715 points, and ranks fourth overall in India.  In Jammu & Kashmir, a total of 37,276 students registered out of which 36,431 students appeared for the NEET 2023 exam.
GMC Jammu courses were started to train fifty medical students for MBBS courses per year and to serve as a referral hospital for Jammu Province. But now the seating capacity has been increased to 120 students per year, Besides the MBBS course, the college also imparts a post-graduate training course. The college offers post-graduate training programmes and M.B.B.S. courses. In order to promote medical education, GMC, Jammu has steadily raised its intake and implemented quick adjustments.
GMC Jammu faculty are highly qualified. There are 800 doctors including faculty and residents, 1000 Paramedical Staff including supervisory staff, and 1500 Class-III & IV employees working in the college and its associated hospitals. Three Blocks. i.e., R.s.Pura, Kot-Bhalwal, and Dansal are also affiliated with Medical College, Jammu for the training of undergraduates & post-graduate students of the college.
Government Medical College, Jammu, a premier institute of J&K (Union Territory) was started in the year, 1973 in a temporary building with the object to provide quality education and deliver healthcare service to the people of this region. This institution is located in the heart of Temple City Jammu. For the practice of the PG and UG students, the institution maintains an animal house with 40 to 50 animals inside the college building. Medical College Hospital, CD Hospital, SMGS Hospital, Sir. Col. R.N. Chopra Nursing Home and others are affiliated with the college. Government Medical College Jammu ranking in India is 13th among the top medical colleges.
The Government Medical College Jammu (GMC) was founded in 1973 to offer medical training and healthcare to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. This institution was established with the express objective of annually training fifty MBBS students and acting as a referral for the hospital in Jammu. The number of pupils currently seated has increased to 150 annually. At present, Govt. Medical College Jammu is catering to patients from the whole of Jammu province, part of Kashmir valley, and adjoining areas of neighbouring states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Five teaching hospitals namely, Medical College Hospital, CD Hospital, SMGS Hospital, Psychiatry Hospital & Dental Hospital are associated with Medical College. The institution started with a total of nine hundred beds and with the inauguration of the Medical College Hospital building in the year 1993, it has now increased to 1700 beds including associated hospitals including Sir. Col. R.N.Chopra Nursing Home.
