National Institute of Technology Trichy is situated in the Tiruchirappalli division of Tamilnadu. It was established as a joint venture of the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Government of India in 1964. NIT Trichy was formerly known as the Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli. With the approval of the Government of India, NIT Trichy was granted deemed university status in 2003. M.Tech and B.Tech are among the popular NIT Trichy courses. The Sikkim Manipal University (SMU), formerly known as the Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical, and Technological Sciences, was founded on November 15, 1992, as a result of an agreement between the Government of Sikkim and the Manipal Pai Foundation to provide exemplary education and health care services in Sikkim and across the country.
