NIT Jalandhar

Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology known as NIT Jalandhar began as a “Regional Engineering College” in 1987. It is a deemed university founded as a joint venture between Govt of Punjab and India. It became the “National Institute of Technology” by the Indian government in 2002. The Indian government and parliament classified the facility as an “Institute of National Importance” in 2007.

NIT Jalandhar Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2023 is under the 601-800 ranking band. NIT Jalandhar NIRF ranking 2023 are 72nd position in the overall category and 85th position in the engineering category. The institute offers 50+ courses in 12 streams at UG, PG and doctoral levels. Admission to NIT Jalandhar courses are done based on entrance exam scores. JEE Main, GATE, JAM etc. scores are considered for admission in courses offered by NIT Jalandhar. The institution has a placement cell that controls the placement process. During NIT Jalandhar placement for the  year 2023, the highest salary package offered was Rs 51 LPA.
