The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). About VIT Vellore
Vellore Institute of Technology, or VIT Vellore was founded in 1984 as Vellore Engineering College to provide students with global standard higher education in fields such as science, engineering, technology, business administration, design, law, etc. VIT Vellore is accredited by the NAAC with an “A++” grade and recognised by the UGC.
