Loyola College Chennai was established in the year 1925 and is a catholic minority institution. It is a public college, situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The college has been affiliated with the University of Madras. It has been recognised by UGC and has also been approved by AICTE, New Delhi. Loyola College has been accredited by NAAC with an “A++” grade. The Loyola College has also been bestowed with Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) status by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, New Delhi (2010-2016), Special income tax exemption of 175% by the Ministry of Finance for any donation to the college for research in seven science disciplines (2012) and Fund for Improvement of Science and Technology (FIST-2013) funded by Department of Science and Technology (DST). As per the NIRF Rankings 2023, the college is ranked 7th in the college category. The college has been ranked 4th in the college category in the NIRF ranking 2022.

Loyola College courses are offered at undergraduate, postgraduate as well as doctoral levels. There are a total of 86 courses offered to students in the stream of arts, science, management, commerce and more. All Loyola College courses are offered in offline, regular mode to the students. Loyola College fees will also vary according to the course applied for, duration of the course, and curriculum.The Loyola College admission to these courses is offered on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the qualifying exam which is followed by a personal interview round. For Loyola College admission to the MCA course, candidates have to apply for the TANCET entrance exam to become eligible.

The institute also has a placement cell that organises placement drives every year. Loyola College Courses and Fees 2025

Loyola College fees range from Rs 1100 to Rs 324000 per year, depending on the degree level, duration and specialization of the course. The college offers 86 courses at UG, PG and Ph.D programmes. Furthermore, Loyola College offers 12 courses in BSc, 10 courses in BA at the UG level. At the PG level, the students can choose a wide range of specializations – 11 courses in M.Phil, 11 course in MSc. Admission to Loyola College courses are open for the academic year 2024-25. For admission the college conducts Tamilnadu 12th. In addition to this, scores of MAT, XAT, CMAT, TANCET, CAT, CBSE 12th are accepted by Loyola College.

Apply for Loyola College Management scholarships

Loyola College administration releases a notice with all the information about the management scholarship. Eligible students can apply by collecting an application fee of Rs 20 only. The completed application form for Loyola College scholarships must be submitted to the office on or before the deadline indicated on the notice board. No application gets accepted after the deadline.

Students who are economically poor and have improved their percentage of exam marks will be given more scholarships than last semester just to encourage them. The beneficiaries should regularly attend classes, and retreats (if possible), for enabling the teaching of English and other subjects and other orientation programmes organised for the minorities and poor people.

Who are not eligible for Loyola College Scholarships?

  • Students with more than 2 arrears in the first year, more than 3 in the second year and more than 4 in the third year are not eligible as they do not meet the purpose of our management fee relief.
  • Anyone whose parents receive a state salary/pension is also not eligible for scholarships
  • Candidates who don’t meet the required attendance criteria and do not attend special programmes organised for poor and minority students
  • If the application is incomplete without the consent or knowledge of the director of LSSS.
  • Students receiving scholarships from other agencies/organisations/NGOs.
  • Students whose parental income is higher than Rs 2 lakhs per year in shift I and Rs 3 lakhs per year in shift II.
